The Setting - Taken from Goodreads
Auranos has fallen and the three kingdoms—Auranos, Limeros, and Paelsia—are now united as one country called Mytica. But still, magic beckons, and with it the chance to rule not just Mytica, but the world...
When the evil King Gaius announces that a road is to be built into the Forbidden Mountains, formally linking all of Mytica together, he sets off a chain of events that will forever change the face of this land, forcing Cleo the dethroned princess, Magnus the reluctant heir, Lucia the haunted sorceress, and Jonas the desperate rebel to take steps they never could have imagined.
My Two Cents
I really enjoy this series. Not love, but like. I think what I enjoy so much is the switch between the main characters. You see things from everyone's perspective, and I think that's how I've been able to fall in love with one of the bad guys (and no, I'm not referring to my husband Chad). Yes, Magnus is warming to me. How did this happen? I was so repulsed by the guy in Falling Kingdoms! This second book in the series is full of action, yet a lot of character building is still going on. Revealed to us are many shocking secrets, all epic fantasy worthy. And a romance starts to bloom for one of my favorite characters Cleo. I know this series hasn't sat right with a lot of people due to a similar plot as Game of Thrones, but hey, I like my fantasy's PG-13 rated versus R. If you enjoyed the first novel Falling Kingdoms, you're sure to fall in love with Rebel Spring. I'm giving Rebel Spring 4 out of 5 stars. A fast read and I'm dying to get my hands on the third. Magnus you better not let me down!
