The Setting - Taken from Goodreads
The horde is coming.
Salvation is surrounded, monsters at the gates, and this time, they're not going away. When Deuce, Fade, Stalker and Tegan set out, the odds are against them. But the odds have been stacked against Deuce from the moment she was born. She might not be a Huntress anymore, but she doesn't run. With her knives in hand and her companions at her side, she will not falter, whether fighting for her life or Fade's love.
Ahead, the battle of a lifetime awaits. Freaks are everywhere, attacking settlements, setting up scouts, perimeters, and patrols. There hasn't been a war like this in centuries, and humans have forgotten how to stand and fight. Unless Deuce can lead them.
This time, however, more than the fate of a single enclave or outpost hangs in the balance. This time, Deuce carries the banner for the survival of all humanity.
My Two Cents
Finally, an ending to a series I can get behind. That's two in one month! It can be done people! I don't have much to say about this one, other than the ending was perfect and Aguirre cleaned up the series nicely while still keeping the readers on the edge of their seats in anticipation. New facts about the Freaks strengthen the plot and an alliance is formed that I never thought possible. As for the characters... Deuce stays true to herself and I like her even more in this final installment. Fade has issues of his own thanks to the Freaks, but I'm glad to report there is a happy ending for Deuce and Fade together. They are so totally swooon worthy! This doesn't mean that all is well with the other characters, but you'll have to read Horde to find out! I'm awarding Horde 5 out of 5 stars. If you can get through the first book Enclave, Aguirre rewards her readers with a heart pounding, epic finish!
