The Setting - Taken from Goodreads
Now that the ley lines around Cabeswater have been woken, nothing for Ronan, Gansey, Blue, and Adam will be the same.
Ronan, for one, is falling more and more deeply into his dreams, and his dreams are intruding more and more into waking life.
Meanwhile, some very sinister people are looking for some of the same pieces of the Cabeswater puzzle that Gansey is after...
My Two Cents
First of all I want to give a big shout-out to NetGalley. Thank you for letting me read this title!
If you've never picked up a Maggie Stiefvater book than you are seriously missing out on some of the best writing in YA literature. While you won't be up all night feverishly turning the pages, you will be surrounded by a magical setting and rich detail (not to mention an awesome story-line). The Dream Thieves is just one more book in Stiefvaters collection that proves she has the chops to write, especially at a time where second books in a series tend to be crap. Where The Raven Boys focused more on the main characters, The Dream Thieves introduces us to the haunted and mysterious life of Ronan. And boy does he have a talent that is just dying to come out! What I loved most about The Dream Thieves was while everyone knew the gang would be searching for Glendower, I was not expecting Ronan to have such depth or power. And the best part is that Stiefvater ties this in wonderfully with the quest. There is a little bit of romance, and not to spoil, but I've wanted this to happen since the beginning of book 1. The romance is more like a side note however, and not nearly enough in my opinion. Overall I loved The Dream Thieves, 5 out of 5 stars. A thrilling edition to this trilogy. And since we're nearing Halloween, I would say this is a perfect pick for something that goes bump in the night!
