Book Review: Raven FlightAuthor: Juliet Marillier
Published: July 2013
Series: Shadowfell #2
Genre: YA Fantasy
The Setting - Taken from Goodreads
Neryn has finally found the rebel group at Shadowfell, and now her task is to seek out the elusive Guardians, vital to her training as a Caller. These four powerful beings have been increasingly at odds with human kind, and Neryn must prove her worth to them. She desperately needs their help to use her gift without compromising herself or the cause of overthrowing the evil King Keldec.
Neryn must journey with the tough and steadfast Tali, who looks on Neryn's love for the double agent Flint as a needless vulnerability. And perhaps it is. What Flint learns from the king will change the battlefield entirely—but in whose favor, no one knows.
My Two Cents
I loved it. But I did really enjoy the first book in this series, Shadowfell. I think if you didn't like Shadowfell, then you're not really going to get a kick out of this book like I did. Marillier truly is the master of all things fantasy and I applaud her (and sort of worship the lady). While Neryn travels perhaps more in this book than in the previous, her adventures and new friends were more interesting to me. And let's not forget Flint, the major heart throb and man of my dreams! He's definitely in this book, yet he does NOT accompany Neryn on her quests. And his motives are questionable when he does appear! You're out for a wild ride in this one! All in all I really enjoyed Raven Flight, 5 out of 5 stars from me. Sorry my reviews of late are kind of lame. We're getting ready to move so my brain is elsewhere! I promise to get my act together sometime!
